2020 National Convention Postponed Until 2021

Dear Navy Leaguer,
Due to safety concerns about travel and large gatherings through the remainder of 2020, contributed to the COVID-19 outbreak, the executive committee approved a motion to postpone the National Convention planned to be held in October in Scottsdale, Arizona. This motion also states that a convention will not be scheduled until sometime after the first of January 2021.
We reviewed the recent survey regarding the convention and deliberated carefully on the results. Ultimately, the rising cases of COVID-19 nationally and in the state of Arizona, with your concerns about traveling at this time, and with the reports that a vaccine will be available by the end of this year, we assessed that this shift will help keep our membership safe during this uncertain time.
Additionally, this motion extended the deadline for nominating committee packets from August 1 to later in the year once a date and time for our meeting is determined, to ensure we can hold relevant elections at our next convention.
You have my assurance and that of the executive committee that our mission and business will not be impacted in any way by this change. Your safety is our priority, and we hope you and your families remain safe during this time. Please contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have regarding this or other matters.
Earnest regard,

Bill Stevenson
National President
